Safe Sport Reminder - CRC & VSC Requirements
Softball Saskatchewan thanks our membership for their continued efforts in meeting Safe Sport requirements and for their commitment to providing a safe environment for all participants.
We would like to clarify that all umpires, regardless of level, are required to obtain a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
As part of Safe Sport and risk management requirements, the following individuals aged 18 and over must have a current CRC and VSC:
- Coaches
- Designated team staff
- Umpires
- Board members
- Board liaisons
This applies to anyone who has, or may have, direct contact with athletes under the age of 18.
Please Note:
- CRC/VSC documentation is valid for three (3) years from the date of issue
- Any concerns or disclosures must be escalated to Softball Saskatchewan for review
- Individuals must report any change in status during the validity period
A CRC/VSC request letter is available to assist volunteers with obtaining their checks.
